Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

The study aimed to determine the housekeeping practices among dormitories and boarding houses in the Municipality of Ipil. The descriptive survey method of research was utilized in the study with the aid of the questionnaire – checklist. The data was gathered through the research instrument. There were fifty (50) dormitory and boarding houses owner and one hundred (100) tenants considered as respondents of the study. The statistical tools used were frequency counting, percentage, weighted mean and chi – square.

Majority of the dormitories owners and boarding houses owner are females and belong to age range of 40 years old and above.Majority of the tenants are females and belong to age range of 21 – 28 years old.

Housekeeping practices among dormitories and boarding houses owners they “often practice” the indicators in cleanliness practices with an overall weighted mean of 4.02 same as when it comes to sanitation practices with an overall weighted mean of 3.87 while they “sometimes practice” the indicators in safety and security practices with an overall weighted mean of 3.33.

There is no significant difference in the extent of housekeeping practices among dormitories and boarding houses in the municipality of Ipil when grouped according to age and gender except in sanitation practices were the result shows that there is a significant difference in the extent of housekeeping practices among dormitories and boarding houses in the municipality of Ipil when grouped according to age.
