Significance of the Study

The outcomes of the study were beneficial to the following:

Department of Health. The result of this study serves as additional reference which will provide data or informationto improve the health services. It will also give insights to understand the attitudes of pregnant women towards Facility-Based Delivery.

Local Government Personnel.The result of this study will provide information on the current situation in Barangay Magdaup regarding compliance to facility-based delivery.It also serves as basis in crafting ordinances related to the topic.

Health Care Team.The result of this study may give information that would enhance health care delivery to pregnant women. This also gave them insights on how to promote facility-based delivery to pregnant women.

Community. It is great contribution to the community especially to the people residing in the area, since they will be informed on the advantages of utilizing facility-based delivery.

Pregnant Women. It helps them to acquire knowledge about safe pregnancy, childbirth and also the importance of facility-based delivery.

Researcher.The result of this study benefit the researcher as it provides knowledge and information in understanding the barriers that prevent the mother from complying in health care facilities and address these barriers appropriately.

Future Researcher.The result of this study should gave baseline data and background study for factors affecting compliance to facility-based delivery. The presents study can be duplicated in other settings so that there can be comparison of data.

  CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research Design The study utilized quantitative approach particularly descriptive survey method using researcher-made questionnaire to gather the data. Research Environment The study was conducted at Barangay Magdaup, located at Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines. The total population of Barangay Magdaup was 4,115, as of 2018 with a total land area 11,901.308 hectares. Barangay Magdaup was about 6 km away from Ipil Municipal hall. In year 2017 Barangay Magdaup has a total of 132 deliveries based on the home-based mother’s record in the Barangay Health Station. Figure 3.   Scope and Delimitation of the Study   This study focused on determining the factors affecting compliance and non-compliance to Facility-Based delivery such as Emotional Factors, Financial Factors, Psychological Factors, Social Status, Socio- demographic Factors. The study covered only the mothers from Barangay Magdaup, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay who are identified that have been delivered a child in year 2017 based on the home-based mothers record in the Barangay Health Station. It was conducted in the months of February to March of school year 2018-2019.
