Theoretical Framework

This study was anchored on the organizational learning theory which states that changing the community means providing strategic leadership for learning, connecting the organization to its environment, creating continuous learning opportunities, encouraging collaboration and team learning, empowering people toward a collective vision, promoting inquiry and dialogue and creating systems to capture and share learning. Active community is essential.

In our research study, in order to fully understand them, we conduct survey that will answer their concerns and needs that hinders them in utilizing the facility despite of its availability, and then think of the interventions that will make them understand the importance of having delivery in the facility. And being a front linier and a leader in the community health promotion, the theory was of big help in changing a community to improve health utilization.

Another framework used in this study was the Andersen’s Behavioral model on “health care utilization and services”. Andersen’s Behavior Model of health services utilization proposes that people’s use of health care services is a function of their predisposition to use services, the factors enable or impending use, their need for care, and their satisfaction with services. This theory supports our study since we are focusing on how to encourage pregnant women to utilize health facility during labor and delivery in the context of this study, the Behavioral model (Andersen) and the organizational learning theory helps in understanding the factors that would affect compliance and non-compliance to facility-based delivery.

Interrelationship in the ecosystem

Interrelationship in the ecosystem defined as the interaction of organism in their environment and or making disturbance to  other nearby organisms in their existence. There are four types of interaction of organism and that are mutualism, commensalism, parasitism, and competition in where:  1 .   Significant Social Problem is described as a condition seen and observed around us that disturbed the community especially the most affected one or the key player of the disturbance.
